Fergus Weir

With over 25 years’ experience leading award-winning businesses in internet technologies and marketing, Fergus has a an incredible  entrepreneurial drive to share with our young mentees.

His approach to blending customer experience skills with a technical understanding of solutions helps our young talent build the toolkit they need to wow clients.

Fergus is not only passionate about developing and training young talent, his approach to conscious leadership has been recognised through many awards, including the Living Wage Foundation. His commitment to fair work and team building shine through his work with our mentees. 

As well as being a DBNN Co-Founder, Fergus is the Managing Director of teclan, a leading UK Digital Marketing company and MonsterNet, the Highlands first ever Gigabit Fibre back-hauled wireless broadband provider.

Jill McAlpine

Jill’s leadership experience spans across business, the public sector, politics, and entrepreneurship. 

With experience ranging from running a seven-figure business to building campaigns, managing projects and business start-up, Jill has a wealth of experience in strategy, idea development, and communications to share with our mentees.

Jill works with our mentees to help them set clear objectives around their goals, to understand purpose and to deliver projects on time and on budget. 

As well as being the co-founder of DBNN, Jill also co-founded ethical wellbeing company, Lovely Mama and Powering Authenticity, a mentorship agency for women and is a also strategic advisor.

Drew Hendry

Drew Hendry MP

Drew is the Member of Parliament for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey and is crowned our first volunteer mentor for our Good Business Podcast project. 

Drew is no stranger to the camera or the audio waves and we are delighted to have him as a DBNN mentor. His rich experience in front of the camera and in the public eye coupled with his easy manner, makes him a great mentor for our young mentees. 

Drew has worked with our young mentees to help them curate podcast episodes in live settings. He works with our mentees to coach them to develop their authentic presentation style and build their confidence in front of the camera and on the Good Business Podcast. 

As a Highland politician, Drew shares our passion for helping develop young talent across the region, while supporting great business. 

Scott MacDonald

Scott is a talented and experienced videographer who is passionate about supporting young people to develop their video production skills – making him a perfect fit as a DBNN mentor. With years of experience in the industry, Scott has worked on a range of projects, including technical videos, corporate productions, and documentaries. He is an expert in capturing drone footage and in product photography.

He is a talented visual storyteller with a keen eye for detail and is constantly exploring new and innovative ways to create engaging content.

Scott works with our mentees to share practical skills using cameras and other equipment and coaches them through the editing process to deliver the end product.

Scott’s approach to mentorship is tailored to the needs of each individual. He believes that every young person has a unique set of skills and talents that can be developed and harnessed through coaching and support. We are so delighted to have Scott as a DBNN Mentor.
